This week I’m going to share some very special memories with you all. Some of you may have seen these photos appear on Facebook, but here I’ll say a bit more about our time in the New Forest rather than just a very large pile of photos. As an extra special treat, this is going to be a series of eight posts over the next week so be sure to check back every day after 11am to see the next installment! The first seven posts will be each of the days, mostly in order. The last post will be a species spotlight on the fabulous fungi we saw throughout the forest!
Introduction – The Wedding
Our wedding was wonderful. The ceremony was just the right mix of relaxed and formal, the drinks reception was delightful and a chance to have lots of photos taken, the dinner was tasty and delicious, the evening reception was fun and enjoyable and the cake was amazing. It was lovely to see all our family and friends come together to celebrate with us and get to know each other. But obviously, after a wedding you need some time to relax and chill out with your new spouse. So after a night in a hotel, off we headed down to the New Forest!
Journey To The New Forest
Now today’s post hasn’t actually got any photos from the New Forest. So my title isn’t quite true, but I promise they will come in the following days! Today I’d like to share with you the photos from our lunchtime stop on our drive to the New Forest. We stopped in Maidenhead at the riverside. The river is the Thames and there’s a nice walk along the side of the river which we explored. We saw a variety of birds and a squirrel. We also tried and failed to locate a geocache. Nevermind…will just have to come back…some day?
Today is also the shortest of my posts. There’s not really a lot to say about a long drive from Cambridgeshire to Hampshire. So I’ll leave you with some photos from Maidenhead and I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for the next installment! I’m going to do all the photos in slideshows because I think that looks better for this. Let me know if there end up being any problems with the shows!
