Nature Explorers At Godmanchester

This week has been a very exciting week – I’ve been helping out at the BCN Wildlife Trust’s Nature Explorer sessions!

There were two sessions this week and I’d thoroughly recommend coming along to the sessions next week – Wednesday and Friday at 10am – Midday.  We go pond dipping, sweep netting and birdwatching!

Here are some of our pond dipping finds this week:

Other finds included pond snails, water scorpions, small fish, dragonfly eggs, caddis flies, water mites and plenty of water boatmen of all sizes!

A couple of finds from sweep netting:

Finally, while bird watching we saw lots of geese, a little egret, lesser black backed gulls and these great crested grebes:

Some other finds on the reserve this week:

I’m looking forward to Nature Explorers next week!
