30 Days Wild, Day 26 – Herbs

Stats – Day 26

Activity: Cutting and drying herbs from my pot
Wild Location: Home
Time of Day: Late Afternoon
Length of Activity: 30 mins
Weather: Sunny, far too hot and muggy

Unfortunately I’ve not been feeling all that well today so I was planning to head out on my bike for an exciting wild day, but instead, I’ve ended up doing something at home instead.

The herb plants that we’ve been growing in a pot in the bathroom have grown a big big and straggly, and I can’t use that many herbs in one go, so I decided that I’d cut about half of them down and dry them and store them for use in cooking experiments!

We have parsley and basil growing together in this pot, one on each side, and the parsley has rather taken over!  I’m drying them carefully in the microwave as we don’t have enough room to air dry herbs in this house.  I managed to get a jar of parsley and a little basil which I put in with our shop brought basil.

How It Made Me Feel

I like herbs.  So its nice to be able to dry them and put them into jars before they start dying off.  I’m glad I managed to do something wild today, it made me feel happier.
