Water Birds

Today I had an easy day and sat by the local lake and watched 3 of my favourite birds.

The Canadian goslings are growing up fast, they now have the distinctive chinstraps although they still tire easily!

The heron was out and about today but didn’t seem to be having a successful days fishing today, although he was being very kind and posing for me.

Finally, the grebe chicks are doing well and growing up well.  Mum and Dad were doing a little nest maintenance today and were spending some time with each other as they were feeding.

How It Made Me Feel

I didn’t really feel up to going out and being wild today if I’m honest.  However, it was nice to get out and be with the birds.  The lake has a calm feel to it despite the busy activities of all its inhabitants.  It is a calming and relaxing place, perfect for when I need cheering up.
